Welcome To The Clwyd Special Riding Centre Website!

Clwyd Special Riding Centre situated in Llanfynydd near Wrexham in North Wales is a registered charity run by a group of volunteers. Every week it welcomes over 200 people of all ages with special needs who benefit from the pleasure and stimulation of riding, carriage-driving and equestrian vaulting. This unique Centre also provides residential riding holidays for groups of people with special needs from all over the UK and abroad.

Holiday Weekend Available!!

First Dog Show a success!

On 24th September, a Companion Dog Show was held to raise funds for Clwyd Special Riding Centre. We ran two rings: one for pedigree classes and one for novelty classes. The novelty classes included classes called ‘dog with the waggiest tail’ and ‘children’s handling’. The pedigree classes were judged by Mr Steve Jones who is a Kennel Club judge and the fun classes by one of our regular vets, Mr Bryan Hallows. It was a fun family ...

Aladdin moving on after years of hard work

Aladdin has recently retired from RDA work and is now living with one of our lovely volunteers in Malpas. We will get regular updates on him and are sure that he will be very much loved and spoiled in his new home.

Fundraising Standards Board newest member

Clwyd Special Riding Centre is now a member of the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB). These are especially challenging times for fundraisers but the FRSB ‘give with confidence’ logo is becoming the sign of reassurance for the giving public.

Congratulations Diane Porter!

Congratulations to our valued part-time finance assistant, Diane Porter, who was recently nominated for the Wales Volunteer of the Year Award 2011 by the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) for her volunteering role that she carries out here at CSRC within the Wrexham RDA Group. We are very proud that Diane finds the time in her busy life to instruct, run holidays, fundraise and keep our finances in order!

Milo will be very much missed

We are very sad to report that Milo was put to sleep in May following a very bad bout of colic. He will be very much missed by all staff, riders and volunteers. The Trustees and staff here at the Centre would like to express our sadness, but remember the great joy he brought to all of us and to thank those of you that contributed to his happy time here.
