Welcome To The Clwyd Special Riding Centre Website!
Clwyd Special Riding Centre situated in Llanfynydd near Wrexham in North Wales is a registered charity run by a group of volunteers. Every week it welcomes over 200 people of all ages with special needs who benefit from the pleasure and stimulation of riding, carriage-driving and equestrian vaulting. This unique Centre also provides residential riding holidays for groups of people with special needs from all over the UK and abroad.
Further to our appeal for votes in respect of the Airbus Community Awards, we are absolutely delighted to announce that we have won the top award of £3500. We have today attended a presentation event at the Airbus Visitor Centre in Broughton, to which the 10 short-listed charities were invited. Bernard Corbett & Co, Malpas, very kindly held a Horse & Pet Car Boot Sale on Saturday, 28 March 2015 with donations to ourselves. We are delighted to announce that we have received the sum of £118 and would like to thank everyone involved - it is greatly appreciated.
The Wrexham Group RDA is seeking new volunteers on a Monday afternoon or a Thursday evening. We still have some tickets available for The Rhos Male Voice Choir concert on Saturday 9th May, 2015, at All Saints' Church, Gresford. By very kind permission of Rev. Canon Tudor Hughes. Doors open at 6.30pm and the concert starts at 7pm. Tickets are £12.50 each and are available from Clwyd Special Riding Centre's office. Bertie is a 14.2hh black gelding ready for a new home - he enjoys hacking/driving and would like to find a home where he can continue this work. He is forward going and active and would be ideal for a small adult to hack out on. We have a great band of supporters who help with fundraising in many forms, from the Bingo at Llay British Legion to the Duck Race at Ffrith. We also have collecting tins scattered far and wide, including in the Wheeler Family Butcher shop in Corwen, the Crown in Corwen and the Harp too. Mr Lane, one of our valued volunteers, often repairs bikes which have been donated which are then sold to raise funds for the Centre.
