Pippa is a registered BHSI, International Passport Level 3 and is currently working towards the Fellowship of the British Horse Society and UK Coaching Certificate Level 3.  She holds the Advanced National Certificate in Equine Business Management and Horse Performance Development as well as the Registered General Nurse qualification.

Fortunate enough to hail from an equestrian background, Pippa commenced her apprenticeship at the Wirral Riding and Saddlery Centre, where her father Geoffrey Hattan FBHS was the then Riding Master.  She  continued on to train with elite international coaches and riders, and went on to a career path that led her to include developing and successfully expanding equestrian centres internationally in Australia, Spain, Malaysia and most recently Hong Kong.

As Chief Instructor and Equestrian Manager, the RDA was very often a pivotal role within these organisations in encompassing and enabling children, young people and adults from all walks of life and disabilities to gain the invaluable therapy that being with and riding horses provides. Pippa has always taken a very keen interest and supported this activity and now relishes the chance to become an integral part of a team which focuses on providing this very opportunity to people at Clwyd Special Riding Centre.

Education very much underpins her achievements and during an eclectic career the fundamental inspiration has always been promoting a holistic view of the equestrian industry that matches the aspirations of the rider, where ever they are coming from, along with the welfare and development of the horse, taking into account the economics of the situation too. Pippa firmly believes in the power of knowledge and relishes the joy that comes from helping horses and riders solve problems and become harmonious partnerships, whatever their background may be!

It was a fun family day with side stalls which included micro chipping and veterinary dog health checks; cakes and drinks were provided by the W.I., centre trustees and volunteers.

There was a demonstration to music during the day by Maggie Jarman who has previously performed at Crufts.

The event raised £1268 for the centre’s funds. Huge thanks to everyone who made the day the success it was.

These are especially challenging times for fundraisers but the FRSB ‘give with confidence’ logo is becoming the sign of reassurance for the giving public.

We are very proud that Diane finds the time in her busy life to instruct, run holidays, fundraise and keep our finances in order!
